Smell and Taste Action Groups
When people unite with the common goal to bring about positive change within their community amazing things can happen.
SmellTaste are thrilled to have received funding from The National Lottery Community Fund to set up Smell and Taste Action Groups. The groups will facilitate collaboration among like-minded individuals and drive collective action towards a more inclusive society, with a specific focus on raising awareness and support for those affected by taste and smell disorders.
The groups will be led by volunteers with support from SmellTaste and will be very much rooted in their local community.
We currently have groups in several areas who are hosting in-person peer support groups that you might want to attend.
Below is a list of where there is activity, but the list is always growing!
- Birmingham
- Mansfield
- Manchester
- Oxford
- London
- South West England (meets in Bath)
- East Grinstead
- Brighton
- Norfolk/Suffolk (meet in Lowestoft)
- We also have a condition specific group for people with Chronic Rhinosinusitis. This is a nation-wide online meetup.

Interested in starting or helping to run a group in your area?
Smell and Taste Action Group volunteers may be people with lived experience of smell or taste impairments, professionals with a passion for the senses or anyone that wants to make a difference in their community and help change the lives of others for the better.
Please complete our SmellTaste volunteering form below. Please choose Smell Taste local groups and tell us your location. Our Community Development Officer, Natasha Hart, will be in touch.
There’s no commitment at this stage and while it takes passion and commitment and dedication from you, SmellTaste is here to support you at every stage of setting up and running the group.Â
