Scottish Medicines Consortium approves Dupilumab for eligible NHS Scotland patients with chronic rhinosinusitis with nasal polyps (CRSwNP)

The Scottish Medicines Consortium (Scotland’s equivalent of NICE) has approved Dupilumab for use in patients with severe chronic rhinosinusitis with nasal polyps (CRSwNP), providing they meet the same eligibility criteria as those approved by NICE for England.
This is an important step forward. At SmellTaste, we worked hard to ensure the voices of people living with severe CRSwNP in Scotland were heard throughout the decision-making process. We submitted evidence calling for the treatment to be approved and took part in the SMC committee meeting. In fact, we were the only patient organisation representing the needs of people in Scotland living with severe CRSwNP in the appraisal process.

We will keep you informed via our website and social media posts when we learn more about the access arrangements.
